The villa was built around 1905 for Arthur Schmidt, the owner of the metalware factory Theodor Schmidt on Mainzer Straße, from sandstone, a building material unusual for Idar-Oberstein. Now the villa is owned by the company Horbach Hotels GmbH, a subsidiary of the Dutch Horbach Group BV with the owners John and Tessa Horbach.
The villa is a listed building and the Art Deco staircase is well worth a look. The villa features modern furnishings with Art Deco views. All hotel rooms are unique and have everything you could wish for today.
